Pacesetter closes out the River Gorge with 3 in the top 10

Chris, Chad, Joel, Travis and Tyler all took the trip up to Tennessee to race in Litespeeds back yard. The River Gorge Road Race in a southeast classic with a 3-mile finishing climb up Raccoon Mountain and a nice 2+ mile over Sand Mountain in the middle of the course it is defiantly a climbing race. Chad and Tyler tried to attack the field as much as possible before Sand Mountain. Chad flatted just before the top of the first KOM we kept the field in check till a 5 man break got two minutes on the field. That's when Chris called for Joel and Tyler to go to the front and close the gap down before we hit Sand Mountain. We managed to bring the game down so that the lead chase group with Chris and Travis sitting comfortably in caught the break just before the top of Sand but on the descent thing's broke up again. Travis and Chris managed their effort perfectly to hit Raccoon Mountain with some juice left Chris came in 3rd (cat2), Travis 9th and Tyler 9th (cat2)

US 100K Classic NRC

The Pacesetter Steel boys were active through out the race. Russ made a speedy recovery to come out for this one. We added heavy hitter Terry Duran to the roster, so we could bring the heat to the pro field. With the USPRO National Championship happening on Sunday in Greenville S.C. the 175 rider field was pro heavy. We had full squads from all the major US pro teams, Navigators Insurance, Jelly Belly, Toyota-Untied, AEG Toshiba, Jittery Joes, Sierra Nevada-Kodak Gallery Share and VMG along with all of the top Elite teams from the southeast. It was a blistering fast race, which started with attacks from the gun. The Pacesetter boys were right there mixing it up with the Pro teams at the front of the peleton. We had a guy in almost every move a till the end when a 25 man split happened. None of us had geared high enough for the sprint and with only 5 money spots left we took no chances in the sprint. You know the team was well represented when runners from the 10K running race saw the Pacesetter Team.

Travis, Tyler and Charles jump in to the mix at South Carolina State Road Race Championship

Travis and Tyler were very active in the Pro 1-2 field. Tyler and Travis went to practice attacks. Travis made two great moves one to bridge to a group off the front and one that created a his own group. Tyler went with the counter both times but nothing was going to stay away with two of the main SC based teams wanting it to come down to a sprint finish.

Charles raced the masters race and came up with 8th in the sprint.

Chad snags 9th place at Sandy Springs

After a two man break stuck from lap one, we went on the offensive with Chad, Chris, and Travis trying to work in a break then Tyler and Charles working the front to try to bring back the break as nothing would stick. Coming into the last lap Tyler strung it out and Chad to care of the rest.

Tyler takes 9th in the Georgia State Time Trial

Tyler takes 9th in the Georgia State Time Trial

The Augusta stop of the Georgia Cup was the State Championship weekend. 24mile Time Trial Friday night, Criterium Saturday night, Road Race Sunday

In the Time Trial Tyler finished 7th in the state and 9th overall.

In the Criterium, we had a great showing, Land Rover / Jaguar of Augusta put up $500 worth of primes given out in $25 per lap from lap 10-30. A group of 6 riders went on the attack 9 laps in so Tyler went to the front to reel them back in before they took all the money. Just as we got them Chad attacked with Tim Henry from Subaru they traded off the prime every lap till the money was gone. Chad and Tim worked perfectly collecting 300 + of the 500 primes... With one to go Chad got in the final move but it was brought back with half a lap Seth Hansley (guest rider) jumped with the group to get 10th. Chad in 13th and Tyler 18th rolled in with the peloton.

The road race we tried. We were very active all day Chad went on a solo run for about 30 miles when the main contenders bridged across to him he had a 3 minute lead but they attacked him on the King of the Mountain climb which gave him not time to recover. Travis and Chris 17th rolled in with what was left of the main group.

Travis Hagner takes Silver at the Georgia Games Road Race!

Travis drove across to a two-man break that had formed after 30 miles of a 90-mile race. Once Travis got across, the other race favorites made the move to get across to him. Travis was out number by the Subaru team three to one but played it perfectly, when there team leader attacked Travis stuck to him like glue for the Silver Medal. Tyler was in the field to finish 8th.

At the Georgia Games Criterium Tyler went on a first lap attack, which set Chris up to attack on the second lap. Chris stayed out till two laps to go when the group he was in got caught. Chris drove it home for 10th and Tyler 11th.
